对于这一个句式，我们以前老师会教我们：continue to do意味着接着继续做一件之前中断过的事情，而continue doing意味着持续做一件正在做的事情。但是实际上，英语母语者没有这么严格的区分，更多的是使用者的喜好或者当地习惯等区分，并不是一个严格的定义区分。如I will continue to improve my English, I will continue improving my English,意思都是一样的，只是有的母语者喜欢第一种用法，有的喜欢第二种用法。知道即可，无需纠结。

一种或另一种形式在特定情况下可能听起来更好，或者在英语世界的某个地方更受欢迎，但这更多地与语言的节奏有关，而不是有一个严格的字典定义将两者分开。例如：

“continue to do” means “start doing something again that was previously interrupted”, whereas “continue doing” means “to carry on the same thing you have already been doing”. Native speakers make no such conscious distinction.
